Sledding Fun

Oh What Fun!

One of our favorite things to do in the Winter when it actually snows is to go sledding down Country Club Hill.  We love it!  Unfortunately, we don't get snow real often.  Whenever we do get snow the kids are ready to go.

Ha ha!  Rob is standing uphill trying to make it look like he is taller than Mike.  Good try!

It is a chore just get them all dressed in clothes, boots, and gloves that fit.  I am exhausted before we even leave the house.

By the time we get home it looks like there are enough clothes for 3 families that are all wet and need to have something done with them.  They are ready to make smores and have hot chocolate!

Kaitlyn's 5th Grade Orchestra Concert

Kaitlyn 5th Grade Orchestra Concert

Kait played the violin in the 5th grade.  They had a recital at West Middle School.  They all did a great job.

Sean's 5th grade Celebration

5th Grade Celebration

This is our fourth year to have a 5th grade graduate from Trout Elementary.  This year things were changed and it was a Celebration and not a Graduation.  We are so proud of Sean and excited for what is ahead for him at West Middle School next year. It is really hard for me to believe he won't be at Trout next year. Where does time go?

Sean will be the class of 2020

Sean received several awards including the highest math maps score!
Way to go Sean!

There are not enough words to describe what this teacher means to our family.  Mrs. Marilyn Nash is very special to us.  She has taken our family under wing since we first became a family.  She has been wonderful for Sean this year. Not every teacher understands special needs such as Tourette's & ADHD.  She deserves Teacher of the Year.  I really wish parents were able to vote on it.  Mrs. Nash you are and will always be special to all of us.  Thank you for ALL you have done.  You went above and beyond and I am so thankful.
Sean we are proud of you!

We always have a party for the kids the night of graduation.
Since Sean's wasn't quite a graduation we still celebrated like it was.

Andy Alligator Birthday Fun!

Birthday Season

Spring is known as Birthday Season around our house.  In one week we have 3 birthdays.  Cole & Sean are a day apart in March and Kait & Mike are a day apart in May.  It gets a little crazy.  We try really hard to make sure they get their own special day.  But when it comes to their friend party we always give them the choice for a bigger party if we combine them.  Cole & Sean decided to each take two friends and go to Norman to Andy Alligators.  We discovered this place a few years back and they (we) all love it. So we loaded and filled our suburban and Nana's SUV and we were off.

The Birthday Gang ready to have some fun!

They had so much fun.  They were in line for the huge outdoor rock climbing wall.

Jesse thought he was super cool!
This was the first time at Andy Alligators that they got to race their own cars.
Blake & Sean were getting ready to climb the wall.

Sean is not real fond of heights.  He made it to the top!
Mike & Cooper had fun playing miniature golf.

And Cooper & Jesse are off!
And the biggest kid of all ready to race!  Just so we have it straight, I believe I beat him every race.

I hope this is a birthday they won't forget.  It was a lot of fun.  A group of really good kids.

Taking Two Monkeys to the Zoo

Two Monkeys at the Zoo

I try to go on all class field trips.  This was a big trip for the little boys, they went to the Wichita Zoo.  Kaitlyn had an appointment at OU in Oklahoma City.  I tried to reschedule but I wasn't able to do so.  Rob knew I really wanted to be with them.  Being as amazing as he is, he took a day of vacation and went with their class to the zoo.  There were enough parents that it was just he and Cooper & Jesse.

My two monkeys loose at the zoo!
I think they may be related to this monkey.  At least they sure act like it sometimes.
Rob said they wanted their picture taken with every statue.

The rainforest is my favorite part of the Wichita Zoo.
I think the rainforest is why I like Wichita Zoo best.  They liked it too.

Enjoying a rest and some cold snowcones.

This snake was just out in the walk way.  They were really trying to figure out how it got there and if it was loose from an exhibit or just crawled out of the woods.  When I saw this picture I was glad I wasn't there.  Too close for comfort.

They had the best time.  I am so glad and grateful that Rob went.  Once again he saved the day.

Our Family
(I really don't like me in this picture but I think it is a great family picture.)
It's not very often that we get all of us.  Usually one of us is taking the picture.  Enjoying the new tri-pod.

Twas the Night Before Christmas

Twas the Night Before Christmas

In first grade they learn the entire poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas".
Not only did they learn the entire thing but they had motions for it all.
(I really didn't know it was that long)

It was hard to get a picture of Cooper from where we were sitting.

Are they cute or what?
