Pumpkin Fun

2011 our first visit to Walter's Family Pumpkin Farm
and we were hooked!

We got to ride in a tractor and walk through many fields to pick the perfect pumpkin.
We found so many interesting ones it was really hard to pick. Some kids picked perfectly round orange ones so picked the crazy ones that looked funny.

Coop & his pumpkin
(Can you tell he is proud?)

Nana went with us to the pumpkin patch and loved it.

They got to take the row boats out.
I was worried these two might think it would be fun to get in the water.
Mike & Kait
They all loved this slide.  You used the round snow sled disc and went down the corrugated pipe slides.  They could have stayed here for hours.

This was our first experience with jumping pillows.  What fun!  I wish we had one of these in our yard.

Kait & Jesse liked the petal cars.                 Mike & Cole made it through the corn maze.

This was so much fun until Cole fell in the creek.  It was a cold day and he was wet! Cole & I made the 30 minute drive to a Wal-Mart for dry clothes.  I now take a change for everyone with us.

We got to pan for gold or stones in the end.  They loved it.  I wasn't sure we would ever get finished.  They were very content staying and panning for hours.

We had a wonderful time at Walter's Pumpkin patch.  It is our new must do each fall.

If you haven't been you should go it is in Burns, KS.

Sean the fisherman

Sean loves to fish,  he can fish for hours and hours.  All the other kids lose patience after awhile, not Sean he will keep trying until he gets one.

I love this smile!! He loves to fish!

Exploring the Exploration Place

Exploring the Exploration Place

We heard that the Exploration Place in Wichita had a Geo-Caching exhibit.  Since Geo-Caching is our new family favorite activity we headed out to check it out.  We had a great day exploring the Exploration place.

My bull riders.

Jesse exploring the castle and posing for a picture.

Everyone was fasincated with the puzzles.

This picture says it all.  He is my mess and I love him to pieces.

Kait & Cooper being in the Tornado simulator.

Michael in the combine.

Mike & Cole checking out the organisms in the mircroscope.

Cooper  & Jesse loved the water tornado experiments.

We had a great day of exploring!

Sledding Fun

Oh What Fun!

One of our favorite things to do in the Winter when it actually snows is to go sledding down Country Club Hill.  We love it!  Unfortunately, we don't get snow real often.  Whenever we do get snow the kids are ready to go.

Ha ha!  Rob is standing uphill trying to make it look like he is taller than Mike.  Good try!

It is a chore just get them all dressed in clothes, boots, and gloves that fit.  I am exhausted before we even leave the house.

By the time we get home it looks like there are enough clothes for 3 families that are all wet and need to have something done with them.  They are ready to make smores and have hot chocolate!

Sean's 5th grade Celebration

5th Grade Celebration

This is our fourth year to have a 5th grade graduate from Trout Elementary.  This year things were changed and it was a Celebration and not a Graduation.  We are so proud of Sean and excited for what is ahead for him at West Middle School next year. It is really hard for me to believe he won't be at Trout next year. Where does time go?

Sean will be the class of 2020

Sean received several awards including the highest math maps score!
Way to go Sean!

There are not enough words to describe what this teacher means to our family.  Mrs. Marilyn Nash is very special to us.  She has taken our family under wing since we first became a family.  She has been wonderful for Sean this year. Not every teacher understands special needs such as Tourette's & ADHD.  She deserves Teacher of the Year.  I really wish parents were able to vote on it.  Mrs. Nash you are and will always be special to all of us.  Thank you for ALL you have done.  You went above and beyond and I am so thankful.
Sean we are proud of you!

We always have a party for the kids the night of graduation.
Since Sean's wasn't quite a graduation we still celebrated like it was.
